Okay, this one steps over our Colorado state lines, but we couldn’t be more excited to share Prison Mindfulness Institute with you! This beautiful organization has its reaches all around the world, and the ones in our home state are extremely beneficial to a much forgotten community: inmates. At Bella Vista, we are utterly blessed to absorb the sunshine and the views, a true gift every day, but unfortunately one that can go for granted when it becomes routine. That’s why stopping the hectic world around us and taking time to reflect and be grateful is so important. Although wedding ceremonies and incarceration couldn’t be more opposite to some, there is extreme value in the words a pastor officiating a wedding ceremony gave us recently:

The Main House is where all the action happens. Its 5,510 square feet of luxurious accommodations are complimented by broad picture windows, designed for unobstructed, panoramic views in every communal area.

Outside of the main house dining room is a two level deck with a gas grill, plenty of seating, and a path down to our fire pit. The lower level in the Main House can be accessed either outdoors by the private patio or inside by the spiral staircase. The Mt. Werner room can be a King or two Twins, and has a spacious bath and closet. Across the hall is the Howelsen Hill suite with two queen beds and a full bath. You may also utilize the couch for additional sleeping space; this bed has a memory foam topper for added comfort and private access to the Howelsen Hill bathroom.

The Rocky Mountain Guest Cabins are designed to be an extension of the Main House, just a stone’s throw away and ideal for those that desire a little more seclusion from the rest of the group. The Lodge’s private entrance leads to a spacious covered balcony with a dining set, adding creative inspiration and a gorgeous, natural setting for any meals or activities you’d like to hold. The large main living area with a wood-burning fireplace is flexible enough for lounging, 沉思, 设置您的画架和画布, 和其他任何你的心脏的欲望. Are you bringing a personal chef or trainer that would like a little more privacy when serving you? I’m one of those locals who finds it hard to make it to the mountain without a snow report. [Cool, you bike? Frequent sunset happy hour every week? Take steep hikes in the blazing heat? I’ll be filling up my tube and hiking in Spring Creek shade.] So it was a first for this summer when I slipped into a familiar road rage as I circled for parking last weekend at the Steamboat Movement Fest. Woof. A plethora of wedding goers from some far away land where it’s acceptable to say “gonDOUGHla” had taken up the majority of the parking lot, and I was like sooo not ready to zen out and focus my prana.

Thank Ganesha for the goddesses who lead the opening ceremony. Cristen, Val and Talaya gracefully welcomed us Colorado yoginis outside at the Steamboat Grand (sorry I was late, ladies). The circle we formed quickly gained an energetic pulse as we dropped into our intentions and chanted as one. Through free form ecstatic dance we channeled our chakras, and man and woman recognized now for the beauty it is. We sensually wiggled ourselves around a courtyard without a drop of doubt or shame and it was awesome.

These are truths.

A more pure world emerges when joy replaces judgment and intelligent conversation flows.

Whether it’s keeping flower girls from playing in the grass before a ceremony, or setting up the dining room with high chairs and extra napkins, she is every parent’s #1 helper. Although she’s fabulous with the little ones, her extensive background in the corporate world means she is first and foremost a planner.
