The owners of Bella Vista Estate personify work hard, play hard. For all the long hours they put in every day of the week, what makes it all worth it in the end is how they balance their own need for fun. That may mean they have to check emails at 6 AM and drive all over town to take care of business, but, shoot, the second happy hour ticks on the clock they remind everyone of the benefits of down time. I love when my boss teases me about how many times he got to tube down Yampa River, or the number of ski runs he squeezed in last season with just a tee shirt on. If I can’t reach his wife during the day, I expect her to be sweating in a yoga class or singing to their beautiful kitty cat on the back porch–because those little things really do matter.
And they matter a lot more than finishing one last project, because its how to keep the stress at bay.
How we, as a human community, encourage each other to reach our full potential and stay on top of self care is extremely important. With that mission in mind, we’ve decided to create our own version of the 12 Days of Christmas with a dozen days of labor appreciation!
What does that mean for y’all? Well, quite simply, VACATIONS!!
To honor Labor Day and all the hard work they put in across the board, Bella Vista would like to award 12 different Colorado companies a 50% OFF reservation between now and May (excluding holidays).
We want to share our lovely estate with those we think deserve an unforgettable experience in the Rockies for all their commitment to excellence. Here’s the fun part: we don’t even know them! Howdy strangers, y’all are now part of the family. There are many vacation rental options in Steamboat Springs, but since we’re biased, we want the cool kids to come here. Call or email today to cash in your awesomeness. Be sure to let us know what other folks you think work hard enough to experience the magic, and see the official list of winners here.
1) Denver Beer Company
An awe inspiring raspberry ale, Princess Yum Yum, lead us to this craft brewery, and we’re not sure we can ever leave. Almost better than their beer? Their Blahg! Thanks for believing in community togetherness and reaching out to your consumers with a unique, personal vibe. Looking forward to clinking glasses with you soon.
2) Bhakti Chai
When we need a refreshing pick me up, there is nothing quite like the sweet and spicy liquids from this amazing, fair trade source. We are humbled by your mission statement and sustainable practices. Thank you for radiating the essence of what these awards are all about: connecting passionate, conscious people with quality service.
3) Conscious Alliance
With a tagline like “Art That Feeds,” Conscious Alliance instantly sparks interest. By fusing the desire to change poverty and hunger in our nation with art and community, this group has nailed a modern way to create change. What’s even more impressive than their dedication to creativity in this movement, however, is their passion for people. We nominate this non profit today because their compass always points true north, and we see them constantly giving. Well, now is the time to receive. Bella Vista is inspired by their spirit and want to engage the talented staff in a vacation to help them realize they deserve a little something in this world, too! Let’s work together to make a stronger, more conscious next generation. Come experience the Magic soon!
4) Zeal Optics
This Colorado proud company sparked our interest initially with state of the art technology and can’t miss designs. We fell in love with modern colors and the amenities of their goggles and glasses, but what really hooked us was Zeal’s passion for the outdoors. Not just some “yea, we’re active,” kind of front–a true, “we only get one life and one earth, let’s not mess this up,” kind of attitude. That’s why their motto, “Passion, Purpose, Adventure,” works so well. Bella Vista Estate thanks you for spreading the word on sustainable materials that make a difference to those that recreate in mother nature. We cannot wait to see what you dream up next! Please come share our love of the Rockies in Steamboat Springs with a corporate event or fun filled vacation at our private vacation rental soon.
5) Mile High Mountaineering
Gear heads have a tendency to overstuff. We like to bring just one more gadget, one more snack, one more battery, one more water bottle. What is a poor mountaineering lover to do when her pack underperforms under the stress of the latest, hottest, must not miss accessory? Why, give MHM a ring! Thank goodness these Colorado grown boys didn’t leave their beloved Rockies in pursuit of…what was that thing people used to care about, status quo? Instead of putting on the mask of a desperate, recent grad, 20-something zombie, MHM founders traded cubicles for couloirs and never looked back. Outdoorsy folk are lucky to have such passionate, fun minds behind a piece of gear that is ultimately the most important tool an explorer can have. From city streets, to backcountry pitches, MHM packs combine practical with progressive to make sure you’re never going to question a zipper or a pocket. We honor their dedication to fresh air and helping others connect with nature. Bella Vista Estate knows that these guys need a vacation in Steamboat Springs to celebrate their successes and also get those creative juices flowing for the next design. MHM, we welcome you to the family.
6) Prison Mindfulness Institute
Okay, this one steps over our Colorado state lines, but we couldn’t be more excited to share Prison Mindfulness Institute with you! This beautiful organization has its reaches all around the world, and the ones in our home state are extremely beneficial to a much forgotten community: inmates. At Bella Vista, we are utterly blessed to absorb the sunshine and the views, a true gift every day, but unfortunately one that can go for granted when it becomes routine. That’s why stopping the hectic world around us and taking time to reflect and be grateful is so important. Although wedding ceremonies and incarceration couldn’t be more opposite to some, there is extreme value in the words a pastor officiating a wedding ceremony gave us recently:
We are surrounded today by God’s country. These two picked this location to mark the beginning of their marriage because it is pure, it is beautiful, it is free, it is natural and it is filled with opportunity and adventure…It is a precious thing to experience something transcendent. When we witness pure beauty we revel in the feeling, deep and beyond words, indisputable and timeless. It leaves us breathless and fulfilled and amazed. No matter how much we think of ourselves as rational, logical human beings, we have an irresistible drive to forget reason and simply feel something spiritual and connective. These are moments to be cherished. Today, we take the time to celebrate sublime moments in our lives and to remember just how important love is to all of us. When we were children, it was easy to see magic in the world; now it is important to have days and locations like this to remind us.
With this in mind, we hope to recognize the many ways teachers help those in cells to absorb the beauty outside. We send our deepest gratitude to the international staff of Prison Mindfulness –from the Dalai Llama, whose quotations are constant reminders for us to drop judgement and forgive, all the way down to the rescue dog who helped a convict find love in his heart. Instead of just offering a 50% off vacation to the Colorado branches of the Prison Dharma Network, we would like to extend the offer to the grander community in the hopes that y’all can join forces and come together to celebrate in the Rocky Mountains. We humbly welcome you to our home.
