Meet the Staff of Colorado’s Most Luxurious Vacation Rental: Summer 2015
Jeff Alger, proud owner of the distinct Minnesota accent and charm, is your go to man for all operational needs. He’s responsible for Bella Vista’s role in making your Colorado vacation a total success, and is available 24/7 to assist you. Besides maintaining our expansive Rocky Mountain property, he improves this vacation rental by owner with an eye for detail and an incredibly high level of standards. Using his background in building and customer service, he’s made a number of impressive changes to the Estate that will be sure to wow your out of town friends (EG: brand new bathroom fixtures, fresh coats of paint, redesigned walkways, and impeccably clean storage shops so you can find exactly what you need, just in the past month). Need a chauffeur to the ski slopes or airport? Give him a ring. Want the kids to stay outside? Jeff’s got ample suggestions for on-site activities and fun! He’ll never turn down a s’more, so be sure to ask him over if you need help with the bonfire. When he’s not manicuring the lawns or building snowmen with guests, you’ll find him snuggling with his affectionate Golden Retriever, Belle–fitting name, eh?! She and Jeff’s wife, Melissa, are also big helpers at Bella Vista, and all three are here to put a smile on your face.
What he can’t live without: Guilty pleasure Chinese fare from Sambi and his quiver of skis for champagne powder and hard-packed groomers.
Melissa Deming, originally a Wisconsin cheese head, is the proverbial glue that holds the Bella Vista together. After growing up in a town of merely 2,000, Melissa truly captured that good ole’ country feel that Steamboat embraces and visitors cannot get enough of. She leads the Estate’s guest services and housekeeping departments with unwavering organizational skills; no curve ball can throw this lady off. With the precision of a sushi chef, Melissa carefully prepares for each guest, taking a careful approach to every need. Whether it’s keeping flower girls from playing in the grass before a ceremony, or setting up the dining room with high chairs and extra napkins, she is every parent’s #1 helper. Although she’s fabulous with the little ones, her extensive background in the corporate world means she is first and foremost a planner. Be sure to pick her brain if you are having an event or corporate retreat!
This space geek loves Nasa, kickball tournaments, and a good crockpot, so don’t be surprised if you get hungry walking past their apartment! Mmmmm
How she stays sane: A glass of wine at Aurum, sunsets on the front steps, and the occasional pair of high heels.
Originally from New England, Sarah “Sal” Albert came to the Rocky Mountains in 2008 and fell head over heels for the Colorado lifestyle. Combining her experience with hospitality and advertising, she lends a hand with concierge while managing Bella Vista’s marketing. Sal adores calling the Rabbit Ears pass home and will brag (to anyone who will listen) that she has the best office view in the world. Her spirited enthusiasm for the Bella Vista stems not only from her obsession with this pet friendly home, but also from helping couples celebrate special occasions. Destination weddings here are completely personalized, and she generates custom events with style. From yoga on the west facing decks, to family reunions with endless yard games, Sal enjoys helping clients plan activities, meals, and spiritual retreats. Her love affair with Steamboat Springs skiing and snowboarding has been enhanced since she has moved to the valley, and being a Bella Vista employee has encouraged her to explore other passions, too. Hiking, rafting, dining, music and more–for all things Steamboat Springs, start your trip early by letting Sal take care of the details.
What she’s digging right now: Eureka’s Mediterranean snacks and Laundry’s Fiery Margarita
